Sugar Bowl

​Sugar Bowl, a suburban tradition that was started by Mr. and Mrs. Files as a simple soda fountain and candy store, has been serving up smiles in Des Plaines, IL since 1921. In its early day, then named The Sugar Bowl Sweet Shop, this was a place for those with a sweet tooth who were looking to indulge in sugary sweets.

Years later, this nostalgic eatery now is open for breakfast and lunch, specializes in pancakes, omelettes, sandwiches, fresh squeezed orange juice, and good old-fashioned hospitality. With its bright home-style decor and delicious food, this classic is sure to please every time. The historic neon sign has been part of the Sugar Bowl since 1957.
